Automated Dynamic Symbology for Visualization of Level 2 & 3 Fusion
نویسندگان
چکیده
Symbols play an important role in identifying informative objects and are widely used in geo-spatial decision support systems and applications. In high-level fusion applications, however, simply placing symbols often lead to information over load problem; symbols quickly grow fast in many applications, such as the post disaster monitoring system we are interested in. This leads to cluttered and overlapped icons. With today’s advanced technologies, new visual effects can lead to better visualization systems where iconic overload may be perceived as a problem. Therefore, conventional method of storage-indexing-retrieval of large sets of prepared icon images is not flexible enough for the visualization of higher fusion levels. Instead, we propose a dynamic symbology, which automatically generates symbols from parameterized components in a threedimensional space. The extension to tactical graphics can provide better situation awareness from simplified and abstract visualization.

متن کاملRedesign of OGC Symbology Encoding standard for sharing cartography
10 Despite most Spatial Data Infrastructures are offering service-based visualization of geospatial data, requirements are often at a very basic level leading to poor quality of maps. This is a general observation for any geospatial architecture as soon as open standards as those of the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) shall be applied. To improve the situation, this paper does focus on improve...
متن کاملAFRL-HE-AZ-TP-2007-08 Visual suppression of monocularly presented symbology against a fused background in a simulation and training environment
When wearing a monocular head-mounted display (HMD), one eye views the HMD symbology while both eyes view an out-the-window scene. This may create interocular differences in image characteristics that could disrupt binocular vision by provoking visual suppression, thus reducing visibility of the background scene, monocular symbology, or both. However, binocular fusion of the background scene ma...
متن کاملA single posterior approach for vertebral column resection in adults with severe rigid kyphosis
Abstract Background: Correction of severe kyphosis is a challenging operation in spinal surgery. A two stage operation has been commonly used: anterior release and decompression followed by posterior correction and fusion. We describe the posterior vertebral osteotomy technique for correction of severe and rigid kyphosis through posterior-only approach. Methods: Twelve patients (six male and s...
متن کاملPanel Report Resource Management Coordination with Level 2/3 Fusion Issues and Challenges
Information fusion system designs require sensor and resource management (SM) for effective and efficient data collection, processing, and dissemination. Common Level 4 fusion sensor management (or process refinement) inter-relations with target tracking and identification (Level 1 fusion) have been detailed in the literature. At the ISIF Fusion Conference, a panel discussion was held to examin...
